MOSCOW (AA) - One civilian was killed and three others were injured in Russia's Moscow region following a massive drone attack launched by Ukraine overnight, regional authorities reported on Tuesday.

Governor Andrey Vorobyov said at least 14 drones were shot down over five cities in the Moscow region, with Ramenskoye the worst hit.

In Ramenskoye, a multi-story residential building sustained severe damage, resulting in the death of a 46-year-old woman and injuries to three others.

Flight departures and arrivals at Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports were delayed or canceled, according to an online flight tracker. The Zhukovsky press service confirmed that the airport is currently closed for both arrivals and departures.

The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency announced temporary restrictions at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports.

Five Ural Airlines flights bound for Moscow were rerouted to alternate airports.

Meanwhile, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said 10 drones were intercepted on their approach to Moscow.

"Emergency services are currently working at the sites where the drones' wreckage was found," he added.

In a separate statement, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that 144 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down across nine regions overnight.

"Air defense forces destroyed and intercepted 144 Ukrainian drones, including 72 over Bryansk, 20 over Moscow, 14 over Kursk, 13 over Tula, 8 over Belgorod, 7 over Kaluga, 5 over Voronezh, 4 over Lipetsk, and 1 over Oryol," the ministry noted.
