1 dead, 2 missing after heavy showers in Japan
Amid forecast of more rains, Prime Minister Suga urges people to evacuate immediately ‘when necessary’

ANKARA (AA) – At least one person was killed and two others remain missing after heavy rains in Japan, local media reported on Friday.
Heavy rains inundated western and southwestern parts of the country on Friday, triggering mudslides and prompting warnings in many areas, according to Kyodo News.
The Japanese weather agency issued a high-level rain alert in the western province of Hiroshima, predicting possible floods, swollen rivers, and mudslides.
In Nagasaki province, a woman died in the southwestern Kyushu region, where two others still remain missing after a mudslide sparked by record downpour hit two houses.
After an emergency meeting in the capital Tokyo, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga urged people to evacuate immediately “when necessary.”
More rainfall has been predicted in Japan’s Kyushu, Shikoku, and Kinki regions, the report added.
