ISTANBUL (AA) - At least one person was killed and three others injured as Russia claimed on Monday that it downed a total of 12 drones launched by Ukraine over four of its regions.
A statement by the Russian Defense Ministry said the country’s air defenses downed one drone over both the Bryansk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine.
The statement further said four drones were shot down over the Krasnodar region, while six others were destroyed over the Oryol region.
Oryol Governor Andrey Klychkov said on Telegram that a drone over his region fell on a fuel station in the city of Livny damaging an administrative building.
Indicating that another drone fell while emergency services were working at the fuel station, Klychkov went on to say that the driver of a regional fire department died due to the incident and three other servicemen were injured, according to preliminary information.
Meanwhile, Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratev said on Telegram that debris from downed drones damaged an unfinished building in the village of Krinitsa and caused a fire in the village of Dzhankhot.
“According to preliminary information, there were no casualties,” he further said.
The governors of Bryansk and Belgorod reported no damages or casualties caused by the downed drones.
Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the claims.
