10 Indian soldiers killed in Kashmir accident
Vehicle was en route to high-altitude post when accident occurred

SRINAGAR, Jammu and Kashmir (AA) - At least 10 Indian soldiers were killed and 10 injured when their vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Thursday, according to officials.
The accident occurred at Khanni Top as the vehicle, carrying 20 soldiers, was en route to a high-altitude post.
Officials said the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to plunge nearly 200 feet (61 meters) into the gorge.
The lieutenant governor of the region, Manoj Sinha, said he was “deeply saddened at the loss of lives."
He said the injured soldiers were airlifted to hospitals.
Army and police teams launched a rescue operation.
