By Mustafa Deveci
ISTANBUL (AA) - Two people were arrested in Israel on Monday for allegedly working for Iran and “plotting the assassination” of a senior Israeli official.
A statement by the Israel's internal intelligence service Shin-Bet (Shabak) stated that two Israeli citizens were arrested for allegedly plotting the assassination of a senior Israeli figure.
It was claimed that the people in question were “hired by Iran.”
Tensions are running high between the two arch-rivals after Iran launched at least 180 ballistic missiles on Israel on Oct. 1 in retaliation for the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
The Israeli army is reportedly preparing for possible action against Iran in coordination with the United States.
