BEIRUT (AA) – Lebanese group Hezbollah said Monday that two of its members had been killed in clashes with Israeli forces near the border between Lebanon and Israel.

The group, however, did not provide any details about the circumstances leading to the death of its two members.

Separately, Hezbollah fired six missiles towards Israeli outposts in the occupied Shebaa Farms in southern Lebanon, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.

According to the broadcaster, the Israeli army shelled the outskirts of the towns of Habbaniyah and al-Faradis in response to the missile attack.

Tensions have flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.

At least 100 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in clashes with Israeli forces since Oct. 8, according to figures released by the group.

The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7.
