BEIRUT (AA) - The Israeli army's warplanes on Tuesday carried out at least two raids on areas in southern Lebanon, local media reported.

The official Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) said the Israeli raids were on the southern outskirts of the Mays al-Jabal town, and a second raid on the village of Houla.

The agency, however, did not report any casualties or material losses.

The Israeli army intensified its reconnaissance aviation amid the firing of flare bombs on the areas in southern Lebanon.

NNA also reported further displacement of Lebanese people from villages on the border areas with Israel.

Late on Monday, Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes in the town of Ghaziyeh, southern the city of Sidon, some 50 kilometers (31 miles) from the border areas, claiming to attack infrastructure for the Hezbollah group.

Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.

The border tension came amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip that has killed more than 29,000 people since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7 last year.
