BEIRUT (AA) - Two people were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a car in the Western Beqaa District of eastern Lebanon, said a report Friday.
The official Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) said the Israeli strike took place on a street between the town of Meidoun and the Sarireh village, 18 miles (30 kilometers) from Lebanese-Israeli border.
The identities of the individuals targeted in the airstrike remain unknown.
The Hezbollah group is yet to comment on the incident.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army continued to shell areas across the southern Lebanon, including a raid on the town of Kafr Kila.
Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
