2 Palestinians killed as Israeli forces raid Tulkarm city in West Bank

At least 398 Palestinians killed by Israeli army fire in West Bank since Oct. 7, according to Health Ministry

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Two Palestinians were killed and two others injured in an Israeli military raid in the West Bank city of Tulkarm on Sunday, according to the Health Ministry.

A ministry statement identified the victims as Nabil Atta, 19, and Mohmmad Fayez, 36, who lost their lives to Israeli bullets in the Tulkarm refugee camp.

The state-run Palestine Television said Israeli forces encircled a house inside the camp and prevented ambulances from reaching the area.

There was no comment from the Israeli military on the report.

Tensions have been running high across the occupied West Bank since Israel launched a deadly military offensive against the Gaza Strip following a Hamas attack on Oct. 7.

At least 398 Palestinians have since been killed and nearly 4,500 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied territory, according to figures released by the Health Ministry.

Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice over its deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip, which has killed nearly 29,000 and caused mass destruction and a shortage of necessities.

An interim ruling by the Hague-based court in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
