RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - Israeli forces on Wednesday detained 25 more Palestinians in various areas of occupied West Bank, officials said.
The action brought the total number of Palestinians detained by Israel since Oct. 7, 2023 to 7,450, according to a joint statement from the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Society.
The arrests took place in the cities of Hebron and Bethlehem, Ramallah, Tulkarem and Qalqilya.
Tensions have been high across the West Bank since the cross-border incursion by Palestinian group Hamas last October. Israel's military campaign in response has killed more than 30,000 people and caused a humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.
Since then, according to the Health Ministry, Israeli forces in the West Bank have killed at least 420 Palestinians and injured 4,500 others.
