ISTANBUL (AA) - Three people, including two children, were injured after missile debris struck a residential building in the town of Ein Tarma on the outskirts of Syria’s capital, Damascus, amid escalating exchanges of attacks between Israel and Iran, according to local media reports.

The state-run Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported Sunday that the missile fragments wounded three civilians and caused material damage to property in the area.

The incident comes amid a military escalation that began Saturday with the launch of a joint US-Israeli campaign, which, according to reports, resulted in the killing of several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In response, Tehran announced drone and missile strikes targeting countries in the Gulf region. Reports also indicated that three US service members were killed and five others seriously wounded in the attacks.
