3 killed in shooting in Russia's Ingushetia region

MOSCOW (AA) - Three people were killed in an armed attack on a police car in Russia's Caucasian Ingushetia region, according to the Interior Ministry.

The incident happened on Friday night when unidentified people fired at a car transporting law enforcement employees on Nazran-Magas highway, the ministry said in a statement.

"Unknown persons carried out an armed attack on a car, as a result of which three men inside were fatally injured," it said.

The attackers escaped in the direction of North Ossetia region on a car that was later found burnt, the statement added.

The regional office of the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case following the incident, it said.
