GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said Saturday that the fate of the 6-year-old girl Hind and the team that went out to rescue her in Gaza City is still unknown after more than four days.
In a statement, Red Crescent said: “More than 110 hours have passed, and the fate of the PRCS ambulance team, Yousef Zeino and Ahmed al Madhoun who went to rescue the 6-year-old girl, Hind, remains unknown.”
“Where is Hind? Where are Ahmed and Yousef? We need to know,” it added.
On Monday, the ambulance crew set off to rescue the two girls, Layan, 15, and Hind after they were trapped by Israeli army tanks and soldiers inside a car.
In a video posted Tuesday on X, the crew said the location of the incident was in Gaza City, near the Fares gas station.
Also on Tuesday, the society posted on X an “audio recording of the moment gunfire was directed at 15-year-old Layan Hamadeh while she was speaking on the phone with the Palestine Red Crescent team.”
“Layan was killed and 6-year-old Hind remained trapped inside the car surrounded by the occupation tanks and soldiers,” Red Crescent added.
During the past few days, Israeli army has intensified its onslaught on the Gaza Governorate asking residents to evacuate.
Israel launched a deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7 that killed at least 27,238 Palestinians and injured 66,452 following a surprise attack by the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas. Nearly 1,200 Israelis are believed to have been killed in the Hamas attack.
The Israeli offensive has left 85% of Gaza’s population internally displaced amid acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine, while 60% of the enclave’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.
