RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - Four Palestinians were shot dead by the Israeli military in Nablus in the northern West Bank on Wednesday evening.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its teams “transported four martyrs from the eastern market in the city of Nablus to the hospital.”
Palestine state-run TV reported that Israeli special forces killed young men in a vehicle in the eastern market of Nablus.
Meanwhile, the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, reported that “undercover soldiers (disguised as Arabs) opened fire on a vehicle containing several young men in Nablus.”
In a later statement, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its teams transported to the hospital “a young man with shrapnel wounds in the head and chest in the eastern market of Nablus.”
Witnesses told Anadolu that “heavy gunfire was heard near the eastern market in Nablus, and soldiers were seen in a civilian vehicle, dressed in civilian clothes, shooting at a Palestinian civilian vehicle from all sides, resulting in the deaths of the young men.”
“An Israeli military force stormed the area to support the special forces,” the witnesses added.
Tensions have been high across the occupied West Bank amid an ongoing Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip, which has claimed nearly 42,000 Palestinian lives, mostly women and children, since Oct. 7 last year.
According to Palestinian sources, nearly 750 Palestinians have been killed, and nearly 6,200 injured in the occupied territory during the same period.
