460 treated after drinking dirty water in east Turkey
Erzurum health official says residents hospitalized with diarrhea, fever

ERZURUM, Turkey (AA) - More than 460 people have been hospitalized in eastern Turkey due to contaminated water, a health official said Wednesday.
Erzurum Provincial Health Director Serhat Vancelik said 461 people in Askale district were treated over the last two days for symptoms including fever, diarrhea and stomach ache due to a virus in the water supply.
He said chlorination of the supply had been stepped up but warned people not to drink tap water for two days.
