5 killed in explosion in southern Damascus

ISTANBUL (AA) - Five people were killed Thursday and 21 injured in an explosion that targeted the south of the capital, Damascus, according to the SANA news agency.

The blast occurred in the town of Assayida Zainab in the countryside of Damascus when a motorcycle exploded near a taxi.

SANA quoted the Interior Ministry that said: “The police and authorities concerned rushed to the explosion place as bodies of the martyrs and the injured were admitted to hospitals.”
