7 men arrested in Japan for sexually assaulting their minor daughters

ISTANBUL (AA) - Police in Japan arrested seven men for sexually assaulting their minor daughters and sharing footage of the assaults on social media, The Mainichi newspaper reported Tuesday.

The Aichi Prefectural Police arrested the men aged in their 30s - 50s for sexual assault, violations of anti-child prostitution and anti-child pornography laws.

Four of the accused allegedly sexually assaulted their biological or foster daughters, who were between 6 and 14 at the time. They filmed and shared the obscene footage on a social media group, while the other three possessed explicit images of underage children.

Police suspect the men proceeded to regularly sexually abuse their daughters and others.

One of the men was arrested last year on suspicion of sexual assault of a minor, and an investigation of his mobile phone showed that the group was exchanging explicit videos.

The suspects are thought to have met each other through an online website.

Police believe that more men may have joined the group and are still investigating.​​​​​​​
