7 people charged over protest at Israeli defense firm's site in UK

They have been charged with 'violent disorder,' says Crown Prosecution Service

LONDON (AA) - Seven people have been charged with "violent disorder" following a pro-Palestine protest at an Israeli arms manufacturer's site in Gloucestershire, South West England, authorities said Tuesday.

In a statement, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said that it has authorized Counter Terrorism Policing South East to charge the seven people over their alleged involvement in "an aggravated burglary and associated violent disorder" at the Elbit Systems UK building on Aug. 6.

"On the facts of this case, the CPS will be submitting to the court that these offences have a terrorist connection," the statement added.

Samuel Corner, 22, has been charged with criminal damage, violent disorder, aggravated burglary, grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of actual bodily harm.

Also, Jordon Devlin, 30, Charlotte Head, 28, Leona Kameo, 28, Fatema Rajwani, 20, Zoe Rogers, 20, and Hannah Davidson, 51, have been charged with criminal damage, violent disorder and aggravated burglary.

They are all due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Separately, Avon and Somerset Police said that these arrests and this investigation are not connected to the recent violent disorder seen across the UK.

Olly Wright, head of Counter Terrorism Policing South East, said: "This is a complex investigation and, while we have now secured charges against a number of people, the investigation very much continues."
