8 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrike on house in Khan Younis

Airstrike targets house belonging to Muhareb family, witnesses tell Anadolu

GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - At least eight Palestinians were killed and several injured Thursday in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

“Some 8 martyrs and an unspecified number of wounded were brought to the European Hospital” due to an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in Khan Younis, a medical source informed Anadolu.

Witnesses told Anadolu that the airstrike targeted a house belonging to the Muhareb family.

They noted that the strike destroyed the house and damaged neighboring houses.

Witnesses noted that civil defense personnel are continuing search operations for those missing due to the airstrike.

Israel has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7 Hamas attack despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.

More than 36,650 Palestinians have since been killed in Gaza, the vast majority being women and children, and over 83,300 others injured, according to local health authorities.

Eight months into the Israeli war, vast swathes of Gaza lay in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.

Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which in its latest ruling has ordered Tel Aviv to immediately halt its operation in Rafah, where more than 1 million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
