8th Mercy to Universe film festival set for November

ISTANBUL (AA) - The 8th Mercy to Universe International Short Film Festival will be held from Nov. 21- 27 in Istanbul, the organizers said.

It will be supported by Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Ministry with Anadolu Agency as its global communication partner.

The festival, which aims to introduce the teachings of Prophet Muhammad to the world, is being organized by the Fidan Art Foundation.

Abdulbaki Baser, chairman of the Fidan Art Foundation, said the festival is important to spread the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

Cemil Nazli, the festival's director, said they are trying to convey to the world life and goodness of Prophet Muhammad through art.

Entries for fiction, documentary or animated films are being accepted until Sept. 23 at http://alemlererahmetfilm.com. Winners will receive 300,000 Turkish liras (around $18,295) in total.
