Istanbul to host Deep Purple concert as well as a woodwind festival this week
- Deep Purple to rock southern Turkey
Legendary rock band Deep Purple will meet their fans in Turkey’s Mediterranean resort city of Antalya on July 5 as part of their European tour.
The rock band will take the stage on the sidelines of Antalya Expo 2016, one of the largest horticultural shows in the world.
Formed in 1968, the English rock band is considered one of the pioneers of heavy metal and hard rock, selling more than 100 million albums worldwide.

- Istanbul to host Woodwind festival
Turkey’s culture capital will host the Istanbul Woodwind Festival between June 29 and July 3.
The events will take place at Caddebostan Culture Center, CKM, in Kadikoy district on the Asian side.
Participants will also enjoy seminars, workshops, master classes, movies, exhibitions and contests during the festival, a statement from the organizers said.
Some of the artists who will perform during the festival are British jazz saxophonist and composer Andy Sheppard, Turkish clarinet virtuoso Husnu Senlendirici and British clarinetist Nicholas Cox.

- German drama to hit Turkish theaters
German drama 13 Minutes (Elser) will hit Turkish theaters on Friday.
Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel the film tells the true story of Georg Elser's failed attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1939.
The 2015 film stars Christian Friedel, Katharina Schuttler and Burghart Klaussner.
