Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan have agreed to enhance trade relations and build a logistic hub near the border area inside the war-torn nation to link South Asian countries with Central Asian republics.

The agreement came during a meeting of Afghan Taliban acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi and senior officials of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in Kabul last week, state-run Bakhtar News Agency reported.

Senior officials from the three sides discussed building a logistic hub at Torghundi, also known as Turghundi, a border town in northern Herat province that connects Afghanistan with Turkmenistan by road.

The Taliban officials also discussed the implementation of preferential tariff arrangements for Afghan export goods to Central Asian republics.

During the meeting, the officials also discussed the trilateral transit agreement involving Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan by enhancing transit routes and promoting seamless movement of goods. The three nations aim to create a more efficient and interconnected trade network in the region.

The interim Taliban administration in Kabul has already signed several agreements in oil and mineral sectors with Chinese companies while earlier they said that Russia is also considering oil and gas investments in the war-torn country.
