Albania, Kosovo, and Croatia sign joint declaration of cooperation on defense
Countries express commitment to strengthening regional security and military interoperability
TIRANA, Albania (AA) - Albania, Kosovo, and Croatia on Tuesday signed a joint declaration of cooperation on defense.
The declaration focuses on developing defense capacities, advancing defense industry and technology, and improving military interoperability through joint education, training, and exercises.
Speaking at the signing ceremony in Tirana, Albanian Defense Minister Pirro Vengu emphasized the importance of this cooperation in the face of ongoing security challenges.
“In a fragile security environment, we share a common assessment of threats. Our commitment to strengthening defense capabilities is stronger than ever,” he stated.
Croatian Defense Minister Ivan Anusic his Kosovar counterpart Ejup Maqedonci described the declaration as a significant step toward enhancing regional security and stability, as well as improving capacities to address common risks and challenges.
The declaration also highlights the commitment of Albania and Croatia, both NATO member states, to supporting Kosovo’s aspirations for full integration into regional and Euro-Atlantic structures.
Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti welcomed the agreement, calling it “an extremely important step for security and peace in the region.”
This trilateral cooperation reflects the growing strategic partnership among the three countries, emphasizing military collaboration, regional stability, and shared security objectives.
