Amazon net sales rise 10%, income doubles in Q2
Net income jumps 101% to $13.5 billion in April-June period

ISTANBUL (AA) - Amazon saw its net sales rising 10% and income nearly doubling in the second quarter of this year, according to its financial results statement released Thursday.
US-based global e-commerce and tech major posted net sales of $148 billion for the three month ended June 30, compared with $134.4 billion the same period of last year.
Net sales in North America increased 9% annually to reach $90 billion, while international segment rose 7% year-on-year to $31.7 billion.
Amazon Web Services, which provides on-demand cloud computing platforms, saw its sales annually increasing 19% to hit $26.3 billion.
Net income, meanwhile, jumped 101% to $13.5 billion in April-June period, from $6.7 billion the same period of 2023.
"We’re continuing to make progress on a number of dimensions, but perhaps none more so than the continued reacceleration in AWS growth," Amazon President and CEO Andy Jassy said in the statement. "As companies continue to modernize their infrastructure and move to the cloud, while also leveraging new Generative AI opportunities."
