Anadolu photographer Ali Jadallah wins 1st place in UAE photo contest

Gaza photographer’s wife receives award on his behalf as he cannot leave Gaza Strip

ISTANBUL (AA) - Anadolu photojournalist Ali Jadallah won first place Tuesday at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with a series of photographs taken in Gaza.

Jadallah secured the top spot in the "Portfolio (Story-Telling)" category. As he could not leave the Gaza Strip, his wife Dua Isavi received the award on his behalf.

The contest, held annually under the patronage of Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum with a different theme each year, focused on "Power" for this edition.

Last month, Jadallah was also honored with Türkiye’s 2025 Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Award in photography.
