Anadolu receives 6 awards in Pictures of the Year international competition

Photojournalists from Türkiye’s leading news agency, Anadolu, received six awards Thursday in the Pictures of the Year (POY) international competition.

Anadolu’s photojournalists received the awards at the POY, which has been organized by the Faculty of Journalism of the University of Missouri in the US since 1944.

Ali Jadallah was awarded the Judges Special Recognition award in the "Impact 2023: Israel-Hamas War" category.

Abed Zagout won the Finalist award in the same category while Abed Rahim Khatib and Belal Khaled received the Outstanding Achievement award.

Wojciech Grzedzinski won the award for excellence in the Spot News category while Muhammed Enes Yildirim won for excellence in the Portrait category.

POY annually gives awards in categories after an open session evaluation by an expert jury in the field of press photography.

Anadolu photojournalists won awards in the competition in previous years.

Mosaab Elshamy, Sebastian Castenada, Mustafa Hassona, Elif Ozturk, Sebnem Coskun, Arif Hudaverdi Yaman, Gokhan Balci ve Onur Coban, Burak Akbulut, Ozge Elif Kizil and Wolfgang Schwa, won awards in previous years.
