Another Israeli soldier injured in Gaza fighting, military says
Military figures show 600 soldiers killed, 3,186 others injured since Oct. 7

JERUSALEM (AA) - One more Israeli soldier was seriously injured in clashes in the Gaza Strip, according to the military on Thursday.
A reservist doctor in the commando formation was seriously injured on Monday during a battle in the southern Gaza Strip, an army statement said.
Figures released by the army showed that 1,553 soldiers have been wounded since Israel expanded its ground offensive in the Gaza Strip on Oct. 27, 2023.
According to military figures, at least 600 soldiers have been killed and 3,186 others injured since the outbreak of the conflict on Oct. 7.
Israel has waged a deadly military offensive on the Gaza Strip since an Oct. 7 cross-border attack by Hamas which killed some 1,200 people.
More than 32,900 Palestinians have since been killed and 75,494 others injured amid mass destruction and shortages of necessities. Israel has imposed a crippling blockade on the Gaza Strip, leaving its population, particularly residents of northern Gaza, on the verge of starvation.
The Israeli war has pushed 85% of Gaza’s population into internal displacement amid acute shortages of food, clean water, and medicine, while 60% of the enclave's infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.
Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which last week asked Israel to do more to prevent famine in Gaza.
