Armenian premier says 'some circles' from Karabakh threatening Armenia’s national security

Nikol Pashinyan warns foreign forces of appropriate steps

ISTANBUL (AA) – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Thursday that "some circles" that have left Azerbaijan’s eastern Karabakh region are threatening his country’s national security.

“I cannot help but note that some circles forcibly resettled from Nagorno-Karabakh are, wittingly or unwittingly, taking actions and steps that pose a threat to the national security of the Republic of Armenia,” Pashinyan said during a government meeting in Yerevan, according to state news agency TASS.

Expressing that this circle is declaring itself as “some kind of government in exile,” Pashinyan said the only government in the country is the one sitting in the room they are present in, and that there can be no other.

This message is very clear, he said, adding necessary, and appropriate steps would be taken to prevent foreign forces from using certain circles to threaten the national security of Armenia.

“If anyone in Armenia identifies itself as the government, it is a matter of national security. This is not a simple statement, it is a clear message,” he added.
