Asian stock markets close Thursday mixed

ANKARA (AA) - Major Asian stock markets closed mixed on Thursday amid investors' concerns over the resurgence of COVID-19 in China.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, gained 1.27% to 3,274.72 points.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 increased 0.46% to close at 26,507.87.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, jumped 2.71% to 19,679.22.

On the other hand, China's Shanghai Stock Exchange dropped 0.46% to 3,054.43.

India's Sensex benchmark lost 0.39% to close at 60,826.22, while the Singapore index rose 0.41%, to 3,269.53.
