Asian stocks close Monday mixed

ISTANBUL (AA) - Major Asian stock exchanges posted mixed figures at the closing session of the first transaction day of the week.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, rose by 0.35% to 3,568.67 points as of 1140GMT.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 was up by 1.23% to close at 32,700.94 points.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong exchange, fell 2.13% to 18,668.15 points.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange also lost 0.11% to reach 3,164.16.

Meanwhile, India's Sensex index dropped by 0.45% to 66,384.78 points.

The Singapore index decreased by 0.40% to close at 3,265.14 points.
