Asian stocks end Wednesday mostly in the red

ANKARA (AA) - Asian stock exchanges ended Wednesday with declines except for India's Hang Seng, which hit a five-month high ahead of the release of US inflation data.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, dropped 0.26% to 3,393 points as of 1110GMT.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 fell by 0.41% to close at 29,122 points.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong exchange, fell for a second session, down 0.53% to 19,762 points.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange lost 1.15% to 3,319, and the Singapore index was flat at 3,242 points.

India's Sensex index, on the other hand, rose 0.29% to a 5-month high of 61,940 points.
