At least 2 killed, 5 injured in school shooting in Russia’s Bryansk
Girl who began shooting in the school later committed suicide, says regional office of Russian Interior Ministry

ISTANBUL (AA) - At least one person was killed and five injured on Thursday in a school shooting in Russia’s Bryansk city.
“A terrible tragedy occurred today at Gymnasium No. 5 in Bryansk. One of the students brought a firearm into the school. Two children died, one of them was the girl who was shooting,” Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz said on Telegram.
Bogomaz said that five children were also injured, with two having mild injuries and the remaining three moderate injuries.
“All were taken to the regional children's hospital, they are receiving the necessary assistance. All emergency services are on site,” Bogomaz further said.
He added that they, together with law enforcement agencies, are trying to determine the circumstances under which the schoolgirl was able to obtain and bring a weapon to school.
According to state news agency TASS, a statement by the regional office of the Russian Interior Ministry said that the girl who began shooting in the school later committed suicide.
TASS further reported that law enforcement agencies believe the shooting was caused by a fight between students.
