GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) – At least 21 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, the third day of the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday, according to medical sources.

Israeli warplanes struck three homes in the central city of Deir al-Balah, killing 13 people and injuring several others, the sources said.

Two more people were killed when an Israeli drone hit a group of civilians in the central Gaza Strip, medics said.

Several people were also reported killed and injured in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City.

Two civilians lost their lives in an Israeli drone strike in Gaza City, while two others were killed in an Israeli bombardment in al-Qarara east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, medical sources said.

Palestinian medical teams also recovered a Palestinian after Israeli shelling that targeted a group of civilians west of Rafah in southern Gaza. Another Palestinian was killed by Israeli army fire east of Rafah.

Israeli forces also blew up dozens of houses in the Saudi neighborhood of Rafah, according to witnesses.

Israel, which has flouted a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, has faced international condemnation amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7, 2023 attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.

More than 37,350 Palestinians have since been killed in Gaza, most of them women and children, and over 85,400 others injured, according to local health authorities.

Over eight months into the Israeli war, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered it to immediately halt its operation in the southern city of Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
