At least 9 killed as Israeli forces bomb school sheltering displaced Gazans

GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) – At least nine people were killed in an Israeli strike on a school sheltering displaced civilians in Gaza City on Tuesday, a medical source said.
Witnesses said Israeli forces bombed a prayer hall and a floor inside Al-Hurrieh School in the Zeitoun neighborhood in southwestern Gaza City.
The bodies of nine victims were transferred to the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the city after the attack, the medical source said, adding that many people were also injured in the strike.
Israel has systematically targeted civilian facilities, including schools, hospitals, and places of worship, in its ongoing offensive on the Gaza Strip.
Under the rules of war, targeting such civilian facilities can constitute a war crime.
Israel has launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip following a Hamas attack last year, killing over 44,250 people, most of them women and children, and injuring over 104,700.
The second year of genocide in Gaza has drawn growing international condemnation, with figures and institutions labeling the attacks and blocking of aid deliveries as a deliberate attempt to destroy a population.
Last week, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its brutal war on Gaza.
