Australian Prime Minister Albanese to visit China next week
Australian premier to attend 6th China International Import Expo, fostering bilateral cooperation, Beijing confirms

ISTANBUL (AA) – Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will visit China early November to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and counterpart Li Qiang.
During the prime minister’s Nov. 4-7 visit, the leaders will discuss cooperation in the economy, climate change, and people-to-people contact, the Australian Premier’s Office said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed Albanese's visit on Monday.
“At the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Albanese will attend the 6th China International Import Expo next week,” said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning.
“A sound and stable bilateral relationship serves the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples and is conducive to regional and world peace and stability," said Mao, according to the Beijing-based daily Global Times.
“China is willing to work with Australia to strengthen high-level exchanges, enhance cooperation in various fields, promote the sustained development and improvement of bilateral relations, and bring more benefits to the two peoples,” she added.
Currently, Albanese is visiting the US at the invitation of US President Joe Biden.
“I look forward to working with President Joe Biden and his administration in the coming days to advance our mutual interests,” he said on X.
