Azerbaijan, UAE presidents discuss political, economic ties in Abu Dhabi

ISTANBUL (AA) – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday met with his UAE counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi during an official visit to the country, according to the Azerbaijani presidency.

The meeting was held as part of Aliyev’s visit to the UAE at the invitation of Al Nahyan. Discussions focused on bilateral relations and political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UAE, the press service said.

Following the talks, the two leaders jointly attended the opening ceremony of the annual international sports tournament Future Games 2025, which brings together traditional sports and innovative digital formats.

The participation of both heads of state in the ceremony was described as reflecting the high level of relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE and the growing scope of cooperation between the two countries.
