MOSCOW (AA) - Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin discussed issues of interaction between military educational institutions with his Kazakh counterpart Ruslan Jaqsylyqov on Wednesday.
During a meeting in the Kazakh city of Almaty, the two officials explored the possibility of training Belarusian servicemen at the National Defense University of Kazakhstan, according to a statement from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.
The Kazakh side presented Khrenin with an overview of the structure, tasks, and training systems at the university, as well as its educational and material resources.
Belarus, in turn, expressed its readiness to share its military expertise with Kazakhstan, Khrenin said.
"Our meeting will undoubtedly provide more opportunities for substantive discussions on bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Belarus in the military sphere. I would like to emphasize that the Belarusian armed forces are ready to share their experience on issues of interest to the Kazakh army," he added.
Khrenin is also expected to participate in a meeting of the defense ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
