BIST 100 jumps 7.87% at Thursday's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 4,848.01 points, surging by 7.87% and ending its two-days losing streak.

Starting the day at 4,492.19 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 353.53 points compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,022.40, while Brent crude oil sold for around $75.66 per barrel as of 18.50 p.m. local time (1550GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.5596 and the euro/lira exchange rate was 21.3454, while the British pound traded at 24.4544 Turkish liras.
