Bitcoin continues to soar following Trump's 'historic' speech

ISTANBUL (AA) - Following US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's "historic" speech in Bitcoin Conference on Sunday, the price of Bitcoin jumped by over 3% within last 24 hours.

Trump, in a keynote speech in Nashville, US, said the US will be the crypto capital of the planet and the Bitcoin superpower of the world, adding: "If crypto is going to define the future, I want it mined, minted and made in the USA. It is not going to be made anywhere else."

Before the event, event organizer Brandon Green has said Trump's speech would be "historic."

The market cap of Bitcoin reached $1.37 trillion according to coinmarketcap data.

The 24-hour volume of the coin was at $23.8 billion and the current price of Bitcoin is at around $69,600 as of GMT1100.

Earlier this month, Bitcoin's price had dropped below $52,000, marking its lowest level since February 2024.

The positive sentiment in cryptocurrency markets was bolstered by expectations of Donald Trump winning the presidential election and speculations of the Fed cutting interest rates twice this year.
