BAGHDAD (AA) – Roadside bomb attacks targeted two military convoys for the US-led coalition against the Daesh/ISIS terror group in Iraq on Sunday, according to security officials.

An explosive device exploded as a coalition convoy passed by on the outskirts of Baghdad, a police officer said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

No injuries or damage were reported.

Another bomb explosion targeted a coalition convoy in the central Babel province another police officer said.

Minor damage was reported to a vehicle in the convoy.

There was no comment from the Iraqi government or the US-led coalition on the attacks.

Earlier Sunday, unidentified people detonated a roadside bomb in the path of a coalition convoy in the southern Dhi Qar province.

In the past weeks, the frequency of attacks targeting US forces and interests occurs almost daily.

Washington accuses Iran-backed Iraqi groups of being behind the attacks against the US-led coalition forces in Iraq, an accusation denied by Tehran.
