'Bombing a hospital is a war crime': Oxfam

LONDON (AA) - Bombing a hospital is a war crime, British-based charity confederation Oxfam said Tuesday, also calling for the urgent establishment of humanitarian access to Gaza.
Asked by Anadolu about Israel’s Tuesday bombing of a hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, reportedly killing hundreds, an Oxfam spokesperson said, "Bombing a hospital is a war crime," adding they are "calling for humanitarian access for Palestinians in Gaza now."
On the social network X, the group also said: "Oxfam is horrified by the bombing of a hospital in Gaza."
"Bombing of hospitals is against basic humanity and a war crime," it added.
More than 500 people were killed in the Israeli airstrike on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip late Tuesday, Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra told Anadolu.
It comes on day 11 in the current conflict, with a growing international chorus of non-governmental groups and world leaders saying the Israeli bombing campaign on the besieged Gaza Strip – including healthcare facilities, homes, and houses of worship – violates international law and may constitute a war crime.
Palestinian group Hamas called the targeting of the hospital an act of "genocide."
