Borsa Istanbul down 2.12% at closing session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish benchmark stock exchange was at 8,333.14 points at close on Wednesday, down by 2.12%, versus the previous close.

The index fell by 180.4 points from the last close.

Its lowest level was at 8,329.02 and highest at 8,533.49.

During the day, 21 indexes gained value and 79 lost.

The total transaction volume reached 150 billion liras ($5.44 billion), while the overall value of index was at 7.17 trillion liras ($260.5 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was at 27.5650 as of 18.05 (GMT1505), while EUR/TRY at 28.9490 and GBP/TRY at 33.4150.
