Borsa Istanbul down at closing session

ISTANBUL (AA) – The Turkish benchmark stock exchange closed Friday at 8,325.30 points, down by 0.15% versus the previous close.

The index lost 12.37 points at the weekly end from Thursday's close.

Its lowest level during the day was 8,295.67 and the highest level was 8,398.44, a record high.

During Friday, 38 indexes gained value and 62 lost.

The total transaction volume reached 137 billion Turkish liras ($5.1 billion), while the overall value of the index was at 7.07 trillion Turkish liras ($264 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was at 26.8480 as of 6.50 p.m. (1550GMT), while EUR/TRY was at 28.7620 and GBP/TRY was at 33.4870.
