Borsa Istanbul down at Thursday's close

BIST 100 index loses 159.15 points

ISTANBUL (AA) – The Turkish benchmark stock index ended at 7,441.50 points on Thursday, down by 2.09% from the previous close.

Starting day at 7,652.36 points, the index hovered between 7,398.48 and 7,766.12, and lost 159.15 points versus Wednesday's close.

The trading saw 17 indexes gaining value, while 83 lost.

The daily transaction volume reached 178 billion Turkish liras ($6.59 billion), while the overall value of the index was 6.29 trillion Turkish liras ($233.33 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.0410 as of 6.20 p.m. local time (GMT1520), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.8050, and the British pound traded at 34.4150 Turkish liras.
