Borsa Istanbul down at Thursday's open

BIST 100 index loses around 9 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened on Thursday at 1,450.52 points, decreasing 0.62% or 9.05 points from the previous close.

At Tuesday close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up by 0.37% at 1,459.57 points, with a daily trading volume of 18.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.3600 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, from 8.3570.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 10.2000, versus 10.2030, while one British pound traded for 11.8200 Turkish liras, down from 11.8960.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $66.70 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
