Borsa Istanbul down at weekly close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index was down 1.02% to close Friday at 1,328.73 points.

Starting the day at 1,348.47 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index diminished 13.76 points over Thursday’s close of 1,342.49 points.

During the day, the index hovered between 1,337.58 and 1,351.65 points -- 41 stocks on the index rose, 54 fell, compared to Thursday.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 989 billion Turkish liras ($125 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 31.3 billion Turkish liras ($4 billion).

The price of Brent crude oil was around $48 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Friday.
