Borsa Istanbul down at week's closing session

ISTANBUL (AA) — Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Friday at 7,513.29 points, decreasing 3.23% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 7.803,71 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 251.18 points from Thursday's close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 7,424.04, while its daily high was 7,815.83.

The total value of BIST 100 was around 6.35 trillion Turkish liras ($234.9 billion) by market close.

The daily trading volume was 148.9 billion liras ($5.5 billion).

Some 13 stocks gained value, while 87 lost.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,920.45, while Brent crude oil sold for $84.25 per barrel as of 7.00 p.m. local time (1600GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.0950, the euro/lira exchange rate was 29.4620, and a British pound traded at 34.5190 liras.
