Borsa Istanbul flat at opening session

ANKARA (AA) – Borsa Istanbul's BIST-100 index was flat at the opening of the daily session Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, increasing just 0.01 percent .

The benchmark index increased 7.09 points to open at 76,125.93. The banking sector index increased 0.02 percent while the holding sector index decreased 0.02 percent.

The sports sector index increased the most among the sector indexes with a 1.02 percent rise while the food and beverage sector index performed the worst with a 0.46 percent decline.

The BIST-100 index slid sharply by 1.30 percent to 76,118.84 points at the close of the daily session Monday, Aug. 29. There were no transactions on the BIST on Tuesday due to Victory Day commemorated in Turkey.
