Borsa Istanbul flat at weekly open

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,423.09 points on Monday, rising 0.07% or 1.03 points from the previous close.

At Friday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.50% at 1,422.06 points, with a daily trading volume of 15.2 billion liras ($1.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 8.5630 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, from 8.5650 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 10.4400, versus 10.4340, while one British pound traded for 12.1770 Turkish liras, up from 12.1730 at the last week's close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $69.30 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
