Borsa Istanbul starts Tuesday looking up

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the day at 3,221.08 points on Tuesday, up 0.67% or 21.54 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 5.26% at the Monday's close of 3,199.54 points with a daily trading volume of 53.8 billion Turkish liras ($2.94 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 18.3010 as of 10.14 a.m. local time (0714GMT), versus 18.2920 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 18.3615 from 18.3170, while a British pound traded for 21.9330 Turkish liras, up from 20.9310.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $92.51 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,682.25.
